Paid Ad Creation & Management
Meta Ads that generated 1,118% direct ROI
It’s because the creative is generic, the message blends in with every other salon in the area (and we all know there are a LOT), and the campaign is built around surface-level metrics instead of what actually matters: booked appointments.
Over November & December, PlugIt Studio managed a Meta campaign for Major Salon Group across Facebook and Instagram, with one clear objective: generate measurable booking revenue and prove that paid social can drive real-world results (not just clicks and likes).

Salons are one of the most competitive local markets on Meta. Your audience is constantly being hit with:
- “20% off” offers.
- last-minute availability posts.
- boosted Reels with no real call-to-action.
- ads that look alright… but don’t convert.
Major Salon Group needed ads that didn’t just look good in the feed, they needed ads that moved people from scrolling to booking.
Results
- £12.18 back for every £1 spent.
- 1,118% ROI from direct bookings through the ads.
- £68,716 in potential client lifetime value.
How we got there: the ‘secret’
Here’s the approach we took across Facebook and Instagram:
1) Positioning first (so the ad has a reason to exist)
If the only reason someone should book is “we’re a salon and we do hair,” you’ll always be competing on price.
We built the campaign around clearer positioning, giving potential clients a simple answer to: “Why book with them instead of the salon I already know?”
This is where a lot of salon ads fall apart. They show the outcome, but they don’t communicate the reason to choose you.
2) Creative production built for conversion (not just aesthetics)
Great visuals help, but visuals without a message are just decoration.
We focused the creative on:
- stopping power (scroll-stopping hooks)
- clarity (what’s being offered and who it’s for)
- trust signals (the stuff that reduces hesitation)
- a direct path to action (booking behaviour, not vague engagement)
3) Revenue-focused tracking (so results are real)
We aligned performance reporting to revenue outcomes, not vanity metrics.
Direct Booking Revenue: £6,210
How total revenue is calculated:
Total revenue is the value of appointments booked online and offline during the conversion window.
Conversion window:
We include conversions that happen:
- within 28 days of viewing an ad, or
- within 28 days of clicking an ad
This matters because salons don’t always convert instantly. People often:
- view an ad, think about it, then book later
- click, browse, then call or book in-person
- ask a friend, check reviews, then come back
The campaign was built to reflect that real buying behaviour.
